When is the Perfect Time for a Bridal Shower?

Watch out, your wedding date isn’t the only date you have to pick! Choosing a date for your bridal shower(s) can be difficult, too. You don’t want to have the party too early and burn everyone out on the wedding, but you should also not have it too close and stress everyone out.

One to three months is the perfect time to hold the bridal shower. Anything earlier or closer to the engagement party will annoy people about you and your wedding. Bridal showers and bachelorette parties are perfect for building momentum for the wedding.

If a bridal shower is around 6 to 8 months, the excitement of a wedding will die down. Your guests will be tired of partying with you.

Having a shower less than a month before the wedding is impractical. You and your family will be so busy planning last minute details and can even be overwhelming for a bride. It’s best for you to leave some breathing room to relax and have pampering time. Also, guests who are getting presents for a shower and the wedding will likely want some time to spread out spending money.

However, some weddings come quickly after an engagement or some people can only come from far distances at certain times. This can hinder the dates and that’s perfectly okay. This is a party celebrating you and it will be a fun few hours. Don’t stress too much on the exact timing of your shower; you probably have more important things to worry about – your big day!
